The AIS communication system, Automatic Identification System, makes it possible to locate and identify each vessel that transmits this signal by monitoring, on predefined marine VHF frequencies, the movements, name and direction of the vessels. AIS communication uses two dedicated VHF channels, 161.975 MHz and 162.025 MHz. SCOUT has designed the KS-30 antenna specifically to allow perfect reception of AIS frequencies.
Ideal for size and lightness, the KS-30 is built with a 1.4 mm thick fiberglass body entirely filled with polyurethane with the special 100% waterproof Scout technique, and painted with ice white shade and anti-UV filter to prevent deterioration of color in the sun. It comes with 5m of top performance military grade RG-58 cable and a PL-259 connector to complete the installation on board.
